The Team
You will be joining the Analytics Engineering Team, that sits at the interface between our Software Engineering and Analytics Consulting teams, and, in general, tries to blend skills from across these disciplines. Members of the team serve a pivotal role in our cross-functional delivery teams, assisting with the design and creation of complex analytical features, whilst also helping to facilitate effective communication across the team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the work of a cross-functional data team to build scalable data solutions.
- Architect data engineering and model engineering solutions, ensuring they are extendable, maintainable and follow best practices
- Manage client relationships with technical or SME stakeholders, preparing technical documentation where required
- Act as a key contributor on the most complex of features across the project portfolio
- Analyse existing data architectures and provide advice on how to develop effective data connectors, ETL/ELT processes and data warehouses / datacubes
- Lead and support your line managees and others in the team, both in their technical delivery and personal development. You will pinpoint opportunities to enhance best processes and implement data engineering best practices.
- Responsible for managing team meetings and overall team governance, ensuring solutions are well documented, and built to relevant technical standards
- Work with the Head of Engineering and SLT to deliver an Analytics Engineering team strategy, planning out team OKRs and relevant growth and process improvement
Technical requirements
- Excellent coding skills in Python with experience with Numpy/Pandas
- Apply software engineering best practices like version control and CI/CD
- Experience with relational database design for data warehousing and advanced ability in SQL.
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP
- Understanding of non-relational database design (e.g. MongoDB)
- Demonstrable experience of leveraging data to deliver value-driving insights for businesses e.g. predictive modelling, automated reporting, etc.
Soft Skills
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
- Ownership and Leadership: Ability to manage workstreams, support junior team members, and lead discussions.
- Client Engagement: Confidence in managing client relationships, especially with technical stakeholders.
