The Role
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible setting the product roadmap and leading the implementation of the product vision, breaking down strategic aims into smaller development tasks and activities. You’ll work closely with our clients on a day-to-day basis and be involved in presenting to senior stakeholders both internally and externally. This means you’re technically oriented but with the skills to explain complex concepts to a range of business stakeholders.
Whilst our products cover a range of topics, they are predominately centred around data, AI and analytics capabilities across various industries, including financial services, manufacturing, retail and public sector. The right candidate for this role will have a passion for data and analytics, and experience handling and interpreting data. They will have experience working with a wide range of technical experts such as Developers, Engineers and or Data Analysts.
Requirements
- Strong experience owning the development and roadmap for a digital product, leading key meetings, including agile ceremonies, client workshops and product demos
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating them into a product vision, roadmap and development activities, ideally for financial services or retail clients
- Demonstrated commercial acumen with a keen ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities, align product development with business goals, and drive revenue growth; adept at balancing customer needs with financial considerations to deliver robust business outcomes
- Uses a combination of their understanding of software development concepts, data analytics, product management frameworks and strategic thinking to translate complex data concepts into actionable product features
- Excellent communicator and deft negotiator, with an ability to communicate complex, often technical, topics effectively to a wide range of audiences (client facing and internal), producing high quality project artefacts and Steering Committee style presentations
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, adeptly managing competing priorities and aligning interests to drive collaborative success; exceptional at navigating complex stakeholder landscapes to ensure integration and buy-in for product initiatives
- Experience leading projects and product delivery teams using agile methodologies (e.g. PRINCE 2 Agile) and tools (JIRA, Confluence)
The following skills are not required but would be beneficial:
- Strong experience managing a prioritised backlog of development activities, clearly defining product requirements and acceptance criteria
- Experience building digital products leveraging AWS and Azure platforms, coupled with a solid understanding of data pipelines, data warehouses, and ETL processes to support robust and scalable data solutions
- Experience leading ad-hoc pieces of analysis work to better understand client requirements
- Technical creativity and grit, with a desire to constantly learn and improve
- Basic proficiency with SQL and experience working with databases
- Financial services industry experience
- A Product or Project Management qualification
