Tim Nagle
Product Manager – ProductA quick Q/A with Product Manager, Tim Nagle
What’s your role at QuantSpark and where do you sit within the organisation?
I’m a Product Manager; within that role, I have a hugely varied and diverse set of responsibilities.
First and foremost, that means I’m working directly with clients to help understand and shape their requirements for technology-driven analytics projects, and I co-ordinate the delivery and quality of the project with our team of skilled engineers.
What did you do before you worked at QuantSpark and where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I have found that there are two ways of becoming a product manager – you can either be in a more commercial role that is interested in becoming more technical, or you start as an engineer that becomes more outward/business-facing. I was the former! I spent much of my career within marketing agencies, helping clients run marketing projects. I naturally took an interested and enthusiasm in the building and developing underlying technologies, and my role has gradually transitioned to it’s present state within product management.
I am thrilled to see a future within technical leadership, working on bigger and better projects in the future.
Who have you learnt the most from at QuantSpark so far? What have you learnt from them?
It is difficult to say just one person, but all of the brilliant engineers that have been on the projects I’m on have been brilliant. There is a fantastic culture of knowledge sharing, and my technical depth of knowledge has increased exponentially thanks to our team.
Who inspires you?
The fantastic unit of people I am lucky to have close to me, both inside and outside my professional life. I am motivated by having kind, supportive and empathetic people around on a regular basis.
What was the last thing you read?
It was a spy fiction novel. I like escapism!
