What’s your role at QuantSpark and where do you sit within the organisation?

I am a Analytics Manager in the Analytics Team

What did you do before you worked at QuantSpark and where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

Before QS, I was an Analyst at PA Consulting, a mid-sized management consultancy firm. I really like working in consultancy and see myself continuing to so in 5 years, with a focus on data science and analytics.

What do you love about your job?

No two projects are the same. There is a great variety of challenges that our clients face, and we always meet the challenge. Our client trust us and are willing to give us an unparalleled level of confidence and responsibility.

Who have you learnt the most from at QuantSpark so far? What have you learnt from them?

I learned a significant amount from George, specifically around structuring data model. George explained the pros/cons of structuring output data tables in a human-readable and machine-readable way. He has also taught be a bunch of SQL tips, including effective use of window functions and CTEs.

What advice would you give to someone on their first day at QuantSpark?

Trust yourself – there is a great deal of expectation and responsibility on Analysts at QS from very early on, but you are literally one in over a thousand applicants and I can guarantee everyone in the team is delighted to have you on board and excited to see what you can do!
