A quick Q/A with Analyst, Grahame Chisholm

What’s your role at QuantSpark and where do you sit within the organisation?

I am an Analyst within the Analytics team. The role sits between the job of a Business Consultant, delivering advantageous strategic advise to our clients, but delivering that through the lens of a Data Scientist.

What did you do before you worked at QuantSpark and where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

Before working at QuantSpark I was the Head of Data and Operations at a start-up Ecommerce footwear label which I joined after graduating from the University of Exeter studying Mechanical Engineering. In 5 year’s time, I hope to have gained a substantial amount of experience as an Analytics Consultant working on a variety of different challenging projects.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would advise him to learn Python as soon as possible!

Who inspires you?

I take a lot of inspiration from my friends, they have taught me the importance of finding out what you are passionate about and dedicating yourself to that passion.

What was the last thing you read?

I have just finished Silk Roads, which explores the idea that the history of the world has been feed to us through a western lens and that there is a wealth of history from the east that is exceptionally interesting, it is well worth a read.
