A quick Q&A with Senior Analytics Engineer, Usman Altaf

What’s your role at QuantSpark and where do you sit within the organisation?

I am a Senior Analytics Engineer at QuantSpark in the Analytics engineering team.

What did you do before you worked at QuantSpark and where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I previously worked as a data engineer for two scale-ups. I envision myself continuing to learn and evolve within my chosen career path over the next five years. My aspiration is to not only expand my knowledge and skills but also to take on leadership responsibilities.

What do you love about your job?

I love the solving problems and collaborating with others. I also love working with technologies and figuring out how we could implement them.

Who have you learnt the most from at QuantSpark so far? What have you learnt from them?

I’ve learnt the most from Kieran who’s another senior analytics engineer. He’s eloquently taught me how a few complex QS models work, and has answered a plethora of my very inarticulate and convoluted questions.

How would your 10-year-old self-react to what you do now?

I grew up around a family of engineers so I guess my 10 -year-old self wouldn’t be surprised.
